Pre-GCSE Course (New course starts on Tuesday 8th September

Schedule: Tuesday & Friday (Slough)
Age: 12 years +
Course description:This course is a pre cursor to the GCSE Religious Studies (Islam) course. Students that successfully complete this one year course can progress to the full GCSE course to attain a formal qualification. Students that would like a taster of the GCSE course are also welcome to attend.

The syllabus includes the following:

  • The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
  • Muslim Beliefs
  • Muslim Acts of Worship
  • Muslim Lifestyle and Social Practices
  • Muslim Morality
  • Islamic History

GCSE Religious Studies, Short course (Islam)

Duration: 1 year
Schedule: Sunday (am) 
Age: 14 years +
Course description: The Al-Zohra Education Trust has prepared girls for the GCSE short course on Islam for more than 8 years with an outstanding 100% pass rate. All girls will receive an official qualification from the AQA exam board. The course covers topics from early Islamic history and beliefs to Islamic manners and morality. We also take a look at Islamic teachings on the environment, finance and justice.

Qur’an and Islamic Studies for Children

Duration: Dependent on ability
Schedule: Daily (Slough) except for Wednesdays
Age: 7-11 years (boys and girls)

Course description: Children are taught the Qur’an with tajweed in English, and learn about the basic teachings of Islam including manners, hygiene, the environment and how to pray salaah. 

Tajweed & Tafseer of Holy Qu'ran (in English & Urdu)

Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday, Thursday & Friday (Slough) and Wednesday (Birmingham)
Age: Adults (sisters only)
Course description: Qur’an with tajweed for beginners and improvers, taught in English, Urdu and Punjabi.  Tafseer (interpretation) of the entire Qur’an taught in English and Urdu.
